Last night working, and lilian and Marvin came and hung out at the bar the whole night. i was a busy girl though i was like running the whole restaurant by myself cause there was no other wait staff on!! i was rockin and we got nice tips,  by the time me and roy were done, Marvin and lilian were well pissy!! we went for a night cap at Prudence the rad bar on the corner by home and then went home, i had my first sleepover in like forever cause lilian stayed over, before that though marvin managed to pick me up flip me over and knock my head into the brick wall, i have a lump,

This morning we had our first ever flat outing, well there was no food in the house either that or we were all to scared to open the fridge cause it stinks to all hell!! sooo we went out for brekfast. nice

A week in the life…

its catch up time, well i wont bother catching up on everything but heres a few things ive been upto. Events that i have made my presence known include

- The royal Melbourne Show. Jenny, Matthias Lillian and I got to pet small animals like lambies and goaties, free food tasting, watched a sheep get shawn and went on awesome rides that flipped my insides out then in again. It was like a giant A&P show. it smelt like poo in some places, but i had fun

- Went to the movies with the dutchys. you would not believe the amount of times i an the only one who dosn’t speak dutch. sometimes they just speak dutch to me! oh well at least its a lovley language. we had dinner then Jorien and Maud and I went to the arty cinema Nova, and watched a film set in Beruit.

-Wednesday Exhibition. Nior, a local kinda painter sculpture street artist. http://blog.niceproduce.com/?p=1851 he does weird creatures with long noses! anyway Amanda and Lisa and i really enjoyed the free wine, yum, then we had dumplings for dinner in Chinatown. we were kinda tipsy cause were all tired from such a long week, i flicked the table behind us with a flying chopstick whoops!! they were really tasty!

- I dont really know where i was up to but on frday i worked, then me and Styen watched the last episoses of the second season of prison break. it was the end of an era now we have completed season one and two, we have not yet found a way to source the 3rd season. So in true Hazel-and-Styen-watching-prison-break fashion we lay in bed and are ice cream from the tub and watched as they triumphantly escaped!

Ahhh tradition...

- well Friday night it was raining so i felt like staying home. Styen was bloody going camping in the Grampians so i couldn’t exactcally use the rain as an excuse not to go out to a bar, Plus it was $2 wine night at La La land! so i met up with Maud and Lillian there and we had our FAIR SHARE of $2wine, happy hour finished at 8 so by then we were well stocked up and on the way to being crunk! later we went on in to town, to workshop our fave place, met up with Ben and Topi. It was Fun, Lillian was drunken! lol. i got home at like 1 pertty early, considering Chris and Marvin only got home at 6.30 am! the woke me, up and we hanged out for a while, they brought flowers from the market, for the flat! calendulars, I love calendulas, i ate some and they thought i was weird!

-on sat marvin and i went for an adventure to Coburg to get his hair cut, i went for a walk, it reminden me of the suburbs of auckland, there was nothing to see and no people. so i walked back.

- That night i got a new job. I had a trial at the Money Order Office aka MOO. Roy works there as a bartender and he hooked me up! its a really flash wine bar restaurant, the wine menu is 30 pages long, no jokes!! anyway it is a big step up from the last job, and the wages are better and there are hot guys that work there, what more could a girl ask for! Trial went really well, after like 3 hours, word around town was that i was the “shizzle” sooooo all good!

- sunday i went to the dream festival, we chilled on the grass and watched cool bands, boogied a bit and chatted and ate ice blocks, i had 4 layers of sunblock on but had to retire to the shade at times, it was a scorcher!

I am a Tennis Pro…

I Lie, Im not really a tennis pro, Tricked you!! On sat i went round to Anna and Sarahs and Nalini who is there photographer friend, came round and we posed as some crazy tennis cats for these photos, it was fun! but cold and sore trying to fit into size 7 shoes!! then we had dinner and hung, early night cause on Sunday Anna ans Sarah ran a Marathon, Crazy!!! They sent me home with lots of goodies cause annas moving to U.K. in a week and needs to get rid of shit, she gave it to me in this wheelie suitcase which broke when i was like 100m down the road, i looked like a funny homless hobo the rest of the half hour walk/tram/walk home!! lol

Sunday was Brill we managed to do absolutely nothing which i believe is quite an achievement. Since Styen is in Tasmania and Chris is in Cairns for Mid semester break, its just me and Marvin at home this week, which is awfull i cant stand him… na thats not true…. its quiet at home but its cool. he was gunna get up early and do uni work. I had desegnated this day as my holiday, my day to do Absolutly nothing!, i got up round 11, and made us a rocking brekfast, then went back to bed to read my book which is really cool, novel about sex and art, all a girl needs! meandered around a bit…. oohhh marvin gave me one of his tracks he has made to write some words too that was sweet, found some nice words, its a dark kinds Bjorkee tune at the moment but we’ll see what comes of it!! so when it was about 3 we finally decided we should go in to the library. had to stop by Workshop first for a coffee, I Heart Workshop <3 he he thats soooo awful! soo just as we were leavimh to go to the libary Jenny txt saying that the libry was closing in 15mins!! so we turned straight back around and got a jug of beer (Montieths gold on tap, what can ya do?) and proceded to hand out, Jenny came like an hour later and hung too, we of course were in perfect timing for the free Sunday night BBQ again Yay! Oh heres me and jenny under the umbrella, scoring some bad luck! inside at Workshop>

Marvin got drunk cause he dosn’t usually drink beer, he was being very embarrassing and humping things, seriously who would behave like that in public!! (please sense my sarcasm) then me and Jenny went for a tram ride to North Fitzroy to the Nightcat bar where they have salsa on Sunday, she showed me a few moves, but im naturally Klutzy. she danced real awesome with some people the only people that would dance wit me were Jenny and a dancing instructor and Ibo our mate and the Biggest sleaze in the bulding!! mmm, managed to get out of that one luckily!! so i just watched…

Gawd, where do i begin… catch up time…

K… On tuesday I baked Cakes… Me and Chris and Roy the cool neighbour chose a rocking playlist for the upcoming party! luckly it was like two to one against the trashy euro techno soo we got some good rock n there! when it hit midnight we all said happy bday to chris and they forced me to give them cakes, and so i did, they all sat there in heavenly bliss and that is how i succeed in arousing and fulfilling five males at one time, i think thats probably the best ive done!

Wednesday night was chris’ Party. I burnt my finger with hot oil, i met some new people. we danced we drank. Oh it was really funny Chris tried to charge people an entrance fee to his party!! $3 what a stupid amount! anyway we all told him it was a pretty shitty idea but he was absolutely sure of it!! it was hilariously he would get all mad and defensive every time we brought it up! then never ended up charging anyone!! oh and this party was different than the rest cause we had lights, fary lights, and a black light and redlight and bluelight and a green light, PIMP! at 4 we had rid the house of most the people… Marvin, Mo and I cleaned, a bit then we ordered Pizza delivery and ate it in bed!

Thursday due to my No Goon Diet i felt fine!!! yay I went to uni, that probally went as badly as a day ever has for me at uni,  I didnt really know what hw were supposed to have for crit, The tutor said to me “thats just not good enough Hazel!” soo all really encouraging!! yay i love uni! But thurs night was fun, we had a visit from our lovley landlord, she told us this was our second warning, we could not have raging mid week partys till 4am or people spewing on the neighbours doorstep or staying over on the couch, She told us our house stunk like beer and that three different neighbours had complained about us just this week!! next time we are going to be given 14 days notice then we have to get out!! But my friend Josi Invited me to come and see the opening night of a musical that her boyfriend had written. it was about the politics of the running of melbourne uni, quite hallarious really when presented as a musical.. it was great i was sitting next to fred who wrote it and he was like mouthing every word and getting really into it , they were both sooo nervous at the beginning. It was a mint show, really sweet outfits and live music, and it was great to see people of our generation, actually making a stand, a protest. i really enjoyed it.

soo i went home to get some sleep, but marvin convinced me to drink some wine with him  and watch a dvd, twas funny after like 2 glasses we were both, tipsy, crazy 15percent auzzie wine..

Friday when i woke up for woek at 7 i felt like the walking dead from lack of sleep. the whole time i was working i was looking foward to coming home and lying on the couch and watching Prison Break (on to first season now) it was totally worth it!! Then i made dinner for my friendey Jenny and we went to Pruedence wich is our local bar, it is like 30 steps from my door so a totally swet place to get crunk then crawl home… but thats not what we did, we just hung out and soaked up the atmosphere which is great, it is an old record shop that started selling beer and now evovoled into a bar that plays records,  we sat in the outdoor bit with fairy lights and chatted to some friendly auzzies who worked for the Lonley Planet Guide!

Sleep is for the Lucky and the Dead…

After work me and Marvin headed out to some other random suburb, Abbortsford, yes, we went to the Melbourne Stencill art festival, there was this exhibition of heaps of sweet stencil art works from round the the world and a workshop you could to to stencil a t shirt and like a live diplay of some stencillings and street art, it was a really mint show, But it made me decide that i want to do stickering… i like it better.. and its easier.. I have some ideas up my sleve about how i can leave my mark on this city… He he we both had M.I.A. paper planes song stuck in our heads and kept having sing alongs…., yup loving on that song rite now

Ohh and we went to the park, ohh and we missed that train...

So that night i was gunna stay home and do some homework….. so i did my lino cutting, fun, ya can hardly call that homework. Got convinced to come to a party for a bit.. us plus cool neighbors walked round in circles for ages trying to find, place, fun times but a bit rainy… we arrived at the giant German Sausage feat and there was a disproportionate amount of German males and it stunk like SAUSAGE… they did have a roof top terrace which would have been cool. if it wasn’t raining…. Hung, same old, got mocked about sheep by my auzzie friend, met a few new people, tried to chat up my Finnish Pursuit.. I got kinda tired cause i was sober and just cause i was tired, i was gunna go home at 12, then 1 i made it home at 2.30 yay sleep, finally sleep, i snuggled in and dreamt of what a good girl i was, planning to get up early and be at the libary when it opened to do some stuff for uni…. well i did get up early i guess…. yea so the party ended up migrating back to my house at 4am, the awful european techno began again, and the screetching, and the various drunk people appearing in my bed… I went and danced for a bit cause there was hookups happening im my bed and i wasn’t involved! lol tried to sleep, i think i slept for a bit, i dunno, someone came and asked me if i had any more alchol, and woke me up again, i was starting to get a tad shitty as the sun was up and my alarm was too go off in like 2 hours… No major awesome ending like i slept with 4 guys in my bed or i sat on the roof and sung Mariah Carey songs as the sun came up, im still a tad pissed off and tired, but its arite, next time i might go Phsyco, yes… mmmm. that could be fun….

Ahhhhhh No sleep ever!!!!

Shit i only leave this thing for 3 days then i go to write again and im like ahhhhhh, so much to tell about, I cant believe i haven’t even been here a month yet!!! Crazy. Ok So we were at wed, And you Know what Wednesday night is…. its party night, Party at my house to be precise, supposedly with all my flatmate’s and me but Chris was sick and Marvin was at work so i had a party!! no lack of guests infact that seems to be one thing there is never a lack of, i kind of yearn for some small gatherings every now and then ya know…. So the party at my house untill like 10 when everybody turned up fashionably late i was sitting on the couch doing my homework… then the gang arrived, same old really alot of cask wine and horney europeans!! lol, he he Sarah and Anna came and they are convinced that they wanna be exchange students, I met a few new people.. i think, Plus talked to the same olds, one in particular who i dont know if he is ever gonna take the hint! oh well, so we went til like 4.30, lucky i only had uni at 2pm on thurs, its alrite, the tutors pretty cool, his name is Helmut!! lol Then i frollocked off to Elwood which is where maud lives, we had dinner, When it was desert i had to excuse myself for a power nap cause, i Know At desert time, very un Me!! But i needed some energy for Vampire weekend…. It was such a swet show, the lead up band was “little Red” there like Australia’s young version of the beach boys, there harmony’s were awesome!! Maud couldn’t decide which band she liked better, I think it was clear for me…. that was like the first time i have Known every single one of the songs a band has played in there set, it might have something to do with the fact that they only have one album but it was great, the venue was called Prince Bandroom, its like maybe 2x size of kings Arms but same kind of feel well probably funkier, like everything in Melbourne is…. Anyway, Vampire weekend are such geeks!! serious ally none of then are Hot!, they are totally gorgeous though!!Ats it was great to listen to such happy music.. and do a little boogie, maud was really cool to go to concert with, even though she didn’t know the band at all she was al getting into it and stuff!! So that night i had my first sleep over at a friends house!! yay! next morning had a lovley like 3 hour long breakfast with Mauds cool flatmate’s and there friends… she does live majorly in the suburbs but the flatties are lovley… ohhh and we went to chapel st which was totally cool i finally found the op shops ive been looking for, Sweet, I bought 3 dresses, i know Just what i needed, No mum i am not addicted to dresses, i just like them!. Watched the “Motorcycle diaries’ at Jop and Joriens house with a giant bar of choc, Really awesoome film, I cant wait to go to South America… whos in?? went home me and chris watched the bloody countrys walkin nto the olypic arena, we just wanted to see NZ and Germany but they were like last so we just sat there like… “what i have never ever heard of that country….” Next Day i had a Job trial. It was at this cafe called DON CAMELLOS its sweet cause it is Literally 200 normal sized steps from my house… i counted!! its weird in the way that it is this cafe with Framed and signed pictures of footy players all over the wall and the boss is X International Boxing Champ Sam Greco, And theres heaps of his pictures and trophies and shit…. its intense there is this article on the wall about him that says ” could this be the most Dangerous man in the world” lol well that is my new boss, i got the job, ive got 4 shifts next week, yay $$$$$$ even its it is totally wakky , apparently ya dont really need to know shit about sport to work there i was working with a theatre graduate,a  musician and a  Nepalese guy?

Serious stuff like Flatting and Jobs

Theve all been fucked around a bit… Nathalie the English girl, left us about a week ago maybe longer, thing is she never told us she was leaving, she just took all her stuff, she then proceeded to txt us telling us she was coming back, i was quite confused at this point. I kinda hoped she didnt come back because her and chris would fight every time they talked, yes he is a little obnoxious but she was a lot weird fine art student/ big drama queen. so shes out now, I got to move int her room which is way bigger, and it is on the other side of the house, i can still hear everything but not quite as loud… lol, i will miss my conversations through the wall with the boys, but my new room is a pretty cool spot, lots of space for extra people to sleep over! Hint hint!  So my mate Styen the one from the Netherlands is moving in…. he goes out with my friend laura so thats cool, there might be another girl around some of the time!!, but other than that its just me and the boys, or men i guess, whatever you want to call them… bit different than home huh! All good though.

Jobs, well i thaught i had this one job but they have been majorly fucking me around, I had a trial, that was all good they said i had the job then i called a week latrer abd thy were like oh no we dont need you come in and pick up your pay any time, so when i went in to pick up my pay they were like o since you rung 3 days ago 3 prople have quit, do you want the job and ao i was like yes then i worked on saturday, then i rung yesterday to see if i had more shifts and thy sair ther want someone more experienced. Fuckers! so today im applying for more, this morning i appled at a cafe that is like themed around the footy!! lol desprate!!  im really desprate for a job cause i really want to buy a black mack book, extra memory and its black… mmmm i love black! i Need it, cause i totally need a mac book for 4th year and also the labs have really shit opening hours here! i had to get up extra early on Monday to do work cause the labs closed at 5 on sun, Whats with that!!

Other things that have happened….

Ok Thursday, i had uni, the class where were doing the architectural posters… I came in at 9.30, had done nothing, but i realized i didn’t have my crit till 3 which was good cause we actually had to present our design if this exhibition poster that could fold down into a flyer… sooo i whipped one up. at 3 we had our crit, we went round the circle and i was like shit there all pretty sweet, ant this pretty chick with big tits and straight hair totally thought hers was the best!, mine was last, the tutor loved it he said it was so simple and brilliant, he said i was a GENIUS, but not to let it go to my head!! lol, too late, shame big tits…. anyway that night i went out do dinner with my Aunty and Uncle who were down from the sunshine coast, it was nice to hang out with some adults for a change!! lol we went to a chinese tea house and talked about all sorts of civilized and uncivilized things too as we always seem to do with my fam… the funniest was the waiters totally fake names like jason and george and shit on there name tags we were wondering if they just rolled with whatever name they put on that day. After a lovley Kai (man its sucky i only just realized how much random maori words i chuck into conversation, cause no one can understand, Most exchange students don’t really know what Maoris are!!) So after i went out to my fave bar, Its called workshop. Its very funky, yup, its upstairs and they have exhibitioons there too and couches which also makes for a cool bar… Cept the least you can pay on eftpos is 15 so i had to give them my id and my efpost and make a tab, which was pretty smooth when i went up to the bar with a mate and i was like ‘oh just put it on my tab!!’ Good night of drinking chatting dancing and romancing… he he well not really but i definatally have two friends that i do like to flurt with alot…. came home quite drunk, partied with the flatties and the hot Germans for a bit, then i was stuffed. i cant believe I managed to fall asleep even though there music was so loud it was shaking the house, and there is only a polystyrene wall between our rooms!! Friday i got up at 12 made me and chris awesome lunch/breakfast, Then at 2 i went back for a little more sleep… Got up at 6 and watched Bridget Jones Diary on tv and did a lino cut….

I officially really only have 2 days of classes. Monday is 9.30 till 5.30 with absolutely no break, thus I only have to be here at 1.30. it seems really weird to only have this many classes but i don’t really mind because uni kinda sucks… the work is really dry and its kinda frowned upon to be creative…. but i can do boring, and do fun creative stuff in my own time.  Ive been keeping busy though…. finishing theory, gawd, that was a mission, thats been taking up most my time but ive been up to other stuff too. Maud and Jorien and i went out for real french crepes. and we also went to another lovley european girl Amanda’s place and we cooked up red thai curry, twas beautiful, i made prawn crackers, very novel. that night when i got home my flatties Marvin and Chris were having a party in there room with four hot German girls. i figures i couldnt sleep cause our walls are like polystyrene thin and i didnt want to intrude so i went to watch tv. but the girls made me come dance to a mix of crap techno music and beyonce.. it was kinda fun, the best was when this chic acme is and started dancing really awesome, i thatugh they must know her… and after like 5 mins of fully showing us all up with her moves she was like, oh i berrte introduce myself, Sunday, from two doors down, cool name…. her mate Ricardo came in later… were planning a block party cause our alley is very under utalised,  we also have 3 Djs and a band living in our alley. sweet. Last night me and Maud tried to get into the Vampire Weekend concert even though it is sold out. I got the wrong date, its next week, Retard!! i bought here a jug of beer to make up for it, we had to get Styen to come help cause we couldn’t finish it ourselves, so we sat at the Espy and yelled at each other over the noise of the Crap “up and coming” bands! good times.
